A brilliant sea today with the south-east gale blowing huge waves in. Harbour beach was shifting from low to high tide with single waves. The mallards and wigeons were nowhere to be seen in Roome Bay, they had left it to the eiders, the goldeneyes and a few common scoters – the real sea ducks.
