No shrike today – the haar stayed out at sea last night and it stayed clear. Our female is probably in Scandinavia now and back on course. But we have got eider chicks. The first broods from the May Island have made it across to Roome Bay. The light winds and fairly calm sea will have helped a lot.  Today there was a group of about eight females with 20 or so chicks pottering about the rocky shore. I hope many more are on their way.
